Two Live Concert Webcasts Tonight!

Decisions, decisions!  There are two live concert webcasts tonight.  Which will you pick?

Tonight, April 7, 2018, at 8PM EDT (GMT-4) the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO), conducted by Leonard Slatkin, and violinist Yoonshin Song will present Béla Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2.  There will be a pre-concert interview with composer Steven Bryant at 7PM.  You can view the DSO concert here.  Here’s the full program:

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra has a free app available for iPhone, iPad, and iTouch so you can enjoy their live concert webcasts and concert library wherever you go.  The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has a free DSO To Go app which is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android.

What if you can’t make either concert?  The SPCO has a free concert library that you can watch on demand.  The DSO has their Replay performance archive, which is available for a year with a $50 donation to the DSO.

Two Free Opera Live Webcasts This Weekend

This weekend, April 1 and 2, 2017,  The Opera Platform presents two live webcasts.

Today, April 1, 2017 at 12:55 EDT (GMT -4) The Opera Platform will present Lucrezia Borgia by Gaetano Donizetti  from the stage of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia Spain.

Tomorrow, April 2, 2017 at 12:55 EDT (GMT -4) see the opening performance of Sorochintsy Fair by Modest Mussorgsky and Vissarion Shebalin (who finished the incomplete opera) from the stage of the Komische Oper in Berlin.

If you can’t make it, you will be able to view the webcast for a limited time on the website.  Check out the website for other operas available for viewing on demand.

Free Live Webcast: Joshua Bell and the National Symphony Orchestra

On February 11, 2017 at 8:00PM EST (GMT-5), medici.tv will present a concert by Joshua Bell and the National Symphony Orchestra.  The live webcast is free.  Here is the link.

The program will include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 and Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole.  The latter will include a dance performance by the Dance Heginbotham dance company.

The performance will also be streaming on the medici.tv Facebook channel.

If you won’t be able to watch the live webcast, it will be available on demand at medici.tv for 90 days.
